  • Suitable: disabled, groups, young people, pensionati, children, familes, single

Perhaps not everyone knows that in Umbria there is the Museum of Hemp. In 2008 in Sant'Anatolia di Narco, a characteristic village of Valnerina, the museum dedicated to one of the most deeply rooted traditions of the Umbrian territory was established.

Falling into disuse due to historical and cultural vicissitudes, the cultivation of hemp has constituted until the beginning of the last century one of the most widespread agricultural productions. Every farming family in Umbria reserved a small portion of land for this resistant crop, in need of little care and very productive, mainly used for ropes and yarns.

This tradition is now experiencing a new renaissance thanks to the research of culture, techniques and knowledge related to a culture so versatile to find excellent uses in textiles, construction and above all ... in the kitchen!
