In every trip or holiday there is always greater the need to "live" a territory in all its completeness. The better you can get to know all the historical, naturalistic, landscape, artistic, food and wine characteristics, the more you feel rich and aware of having made the right choice.

Umbria in general is an "arsenal" of attractions and one of many, curious, healthy, excellent on the palate, is the research and use of spontaneous herbs in the kitchen.

The area of ​​prevailing interest is Mount Subasio, the mountain of Assisi, which inevitably offers us a whole series of valid reasons to spend a holiday.

1 day - Assisi

Arrival in the afternoon in the city of San Francesco and Santa Chiara. Visit the symbolic places of Assisi, the Basilica of San Francesco preserving the body of the Saint and numerous works by world-famous artists such as Giotto, Cimabue, Lorenzetti, Simone Martini; the church of Santa Chiara, Piazza del Comune with the pagan temple of the Goddess Minerva and the excavations below, the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli which houses the famous "Porziuncola", the first church of the Poverello.

2nd day - Mount Subasio: collection of wild herbs

Breakfast in the structure.

Meeting of the participants on the agreed place near Mount Subasio, presentation and illustration of the peculiarities of wild herbs.

Continuation of research on the field of herbs. The research will be assisted by personnel specialized in the recognition of edible herbs.

Picnic lunch with Umbrian bread, cold cuts and cheeses from the Umbrian land.

Return to the place of departure and start cooking course of spontaneous country herbs. Dinner with tasting of the herbs themselves as a side dish or as a filling of the Umbra cake (cake to the text)

Return to the accommodation facility

3rd day - Spello

Breakfast at the hotel and transfer to nearby Spello. A characteristic town located on the southern slope of Mount Subasio. Characteristic its historical center full of flowered balconies. Interesting, do not miss the Church of Santa Maria Maggiore which houses the Baglioni Chapel, entirely frescoed by Pintoricchio.
